Chiropractors: Chiropractic Adjustments
Manual spinal manipulations performed by Ottawa Chiropractors target restricted and inflamed joints of the spine and body to improve joint mobility and reduce pain in your body.
Joints can be restricted and inflamed due to a variety of reasons, including: poor posture, scoliosis, arthritis, sports injuries, pregnancy, etc.
A chiropractic adjustment manipulation increases pain tolerance by affecting primary afferent neurons of surrounding spinal tissues, the motor control system, and the pain processing of the people.
It leaves you feeling lighter, more flexible, and better all-around after the chiropractic therapy. The “popping sound” is medically called “cavitation”. It is harmless and is a result of a gas escaping from an adjusted joint, improving its mobility and reducing its irritation through normalizing the joint capsule’s internal pressure

How Chiro Works
Joint mobilizations are gentle, oscillatory, passive movements applied to joints of the spine or body to increase the range of motion of that region. This care treatment is an alternative option for spinal or joint manipulation, when it is contraindicated in conditions such as osteoporosis, spinal or joint fusion, post-surgical recovery, pre-existing spinal damage, severe arthritis, etc. Click here to know what makes our chiro treatments different.
Chiropractic mobilization styles include: manual mobilizations, flexion-distraction, toggle drop, etc.

Chiropractic care is a very popular method of treatment used to heal many types of pain and dysfunction including: spinal and extremity injuries, sports trauma, car accidents, pregnancy-related pain, headaches and so much more! What’s interesting about Chiropractic is that we can help you reach your optimal well-being without using medication or surgical procedures.
Chiropractic treatments are relaxing, safe and efficient. There are many scientific studies supporting the use of Chiropractic care if you are suffering from acute or chronic joint and/or muscle pain.
We understand that choosing an excellent Chiropractor in Ottawa is challenging. Our facility is state-of-the-art and our chiropractors are trained to:
1. Treat only musculoskeletal conditions and certain nerve related pain, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica
2. Order x-rays only when medically necessary (we do not endorse full spine x-rays)
3. Create treatment plans according to the prognosis of a particular condition; we do not encourage long treatment plans or excessive frequency of visits
4. Rely on research and evidence to support their treatment plan and do not endorse scientifically unsupported claims
We’re sorry you had a negative experience with a chiropractor elsewhere. Be reassured that our chiropractors at Kent Chiro-Med Wellness Clinic are trained to be excellent at two things: quality care and customer service. We receive lots of positive acclamation from many new patients who have been to another Chiropractic facility before and were disappointed by their services. Our mission is to restore confidence in the patients who have previously had poor experiences with Chiropractic and to help them return to their active normal lives.
We do not perform X-rays for every new patient, nor do we take full spine radiography. We understand the negative impact of radiation on the body. We rely heavily on diagnostic skills, experience, and refined clinical judgments. All chiropractors and physiotherapists are required to take part in continuing education every year to stay up-to-date with medical research and new treatment strategies.
We also do not follow procedures of a monotone/standardized treatment plan that is based on adjustments only and limited to 5 minutes; misleading patients into believing they need a lifetime of adjustments. Our approach relies on specific treatment plans that are unique to the individual and their case. After completion of the treatment plan, we re-evaluate to assess for progress or deterioration of the condition. Our Chiropractors also rely heavily on teamwork with Medical Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Lawyers, Massage Therapists, Nutritionists, and Kinesiologists.
At our Clinic, you are ensured to get treatments from one of the best chiropractors in Ottawa. Get your health back and contact us today at 613-695-8600 (Ottawa).
Our fees are non-negotiable. Chiropractic care services can be paid through the use of your private personal/group health insurance. Private insurance companies such as Sunlife, Manulife, BlueCross, Great West, and so many more cover chiropractic. It’s your responsibility to determine how much is covered for chiropractic care by contacting your insurance company directly. We do not do direct insurance billing.
X-rays are paid through the use of OHIP and are done at any branch of the CMA laboratory. You need an X-ray requisition form from a Chiropractor or Medical Doctor to be eligible for coverage.
